Kangaroo Island

30th October till 4th November 2012

After reversing the car onto the ferry, off we were to Kangaroo Island! We spent some wonderful days here, even though sadly the first days were overcast, everything just grey. Saw lots of sea-lions at Seal Bay and stopped at various beaches on our way to Flinders Chase National Park. One of the campgrounds had similarities to a zoo: a koala came walking towards us and our car before jumping on the next tree, roos and little joeys, sheep, ducks and annoyingly loud turkeys! In F.C. NP we went to Admirals Arch, where we also saw New Zealand Fur Seals, Weirs Cove and the Remarkable Rocks before heading to our campground - Snake Lagoon. On the gravel road, we kept hearing a noise from the car and realised that a screw had come undone at the breakpads! Bush-mechanic Silvan required! The next day we went searching for platypus again, but again no success! The trip took us further to Stokes Bay and Emu Bay. Today we enjoyed the local farmers market and a swim in the ocean at the beautiful Pennington Bay!

  1. Great photos folks! Dunno how you pulled off that shot about the strong rip. That one's a classic!

Great to see you are having a good trip -- wish we were along with you! Prado still treating you well?
